Sony Online Entertainment is full of many diverse employees. Our company isn’t just made up of the folks you meet on the forums or see at Fan Faire. We have a Finance Department, a Human Resources department, Legal, Office Operations, Administrative Assistants, people from all walks of life!
The Community team would like to introduce you to those people in a monthly feature titled, “SOE Employee Spotlight.” This month you will meet Justin Dazet from Clone Wars Adventures development team. Take a moment to find out about what a typical day in the office is like for them, what their favorite SOE game is, and other fun tidbits.
What is your real name or an alias you’d rather use?
Justin Dazet

What is your official title/position?
Apprentice Game Designer on Clone Wars Adventures
How long have you been working at SOE?
Just shy of 2 years now.
Tell us what a typical workday is like for you.
My workday presently involves designing and implementing new Republic Defender levels for Clone Wars Adventures. This essentially involves immersing myself in Star Wars stuff (which I would probably do for free…sshh!), figuring out fun ways to make it part of the game play, and then hooking up the actual mechanics to make it function.
What is your favorite SOE game title?
Clone Wars Adventures!
Inside that title, what is your favorite locatio
The Hangar. Kit Fisto seems like he’d be a chill dude to hang out with.
What is your favorite thing about that game?
The vast array of different types of mini-games and activities we offer.
If you could be any fictional character, whom would you be?
Han Solo. The definition of cool.
What was the last book you read?
Once Upon a Galaxy: A Journal of the Making of The Empire Strikes Back by Alan Arnold
How did you get into the industry?
Left a ten year career in banking and moved from New England to*California*with one goal: work in the game industry.* From there it was a matter of persistence, some good luck and a lot of hard work. I’ve also been fortunate enough to encounter a lot of talented people who have helped me succeed here at SOE.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The Force (yes, it’s a superpower!)
Outside of work, what do you like to do?
Write (fiction and nonfiction, my first novel will be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble soon!), play all types of video games, go hiking, and haunt micro-breweries.
We hoped you enjoyed meeting Justin and will return next month for another SOE Employee Spotlight.
